3 Rules in Hockey You Must Know

1. Offside:In ice hockey, a play is offside if a player on the attacking team enters the offensive zone before the puck, unless the puck is sent or carried there by a defending player. When an offsideviolation occurs, a linesman will stop play.

2.Icing is an infraction in the sport of ice hockey. It occurs when a player shoots the puck across both the centre red line and the opposing team's goal line, and the puck remains untouched.

3.A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. ... The opposing team is said to be on a power play, having one player more on the ice than the short-handed team. The short handed team is said to be "penalty killing" until the penalty expires and the penalized player returns to play.
