  • There is a cheerleading meeting today at noon in Ms. Massey’s room for all cheerleaders.

  • All of Mme. Desaulnier’s Science students who missed last Thursday’s or Friday’s quiz must report to room 181 today at lunch to do the quiz.
  • Student Council will be having a bake sale in the cafeteria today where you can buy a special treat for that special someone.

  • Congratulations to Taza Adehayo who is Symmes’ Athlete of the Week.  Taza plays on the benjamin girls basketball team coached by Mr. Reid. Taza played an essential role in two wins this past weekend scoring 20 plus points in each game.

  • All students participating in the mural project will be working on it on Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and Friday.  Participants are to meet in the Dance Studio at 1:00 on Wednesday and at 8:50 on Thursday and Friday.  If you would like to participate in the mural, submit a preliminary drawing and permission form to Ms. Levman in the Dance studio today.

  • There will be an information meeting today for all grade 8 students who are interested in spending a week this spring at the University of Ottawa. The mini enrichment courses include topics such as filmmaking, music, engineering, social issues and creative writing. Come find out more about the exciting programs that are being offered as well as how to register!   • For every weekly order of St. Albert Cheese from January 23rd to March 12th you name will be entered into a draw for your chance to win a pair of tickets to an Ottawa Senators hockey game at Scotia Bank Place on March 20th.  We are currently running our 3rd blitz fundraiser – PartyLite Candles.  Students who meet target sales will have the opportunity to win a $50.00 pre-paid Visa.  As well, there will be 3 Cineplex gift certificates, 3 iTunes cards and 3 Tim Hortons cards drawn among the top 10 sellers.  Order forms were distributed in class and are available in the front lobby.  Deadline for all orders is January 25th to office 166.  Participants will also be earning half of the proceeds raised by you for your student credit account.

  • Congratulations to Andrew Lariviere and Erica Woolner who are Symmes Athletes of the week.  Andrew is on the Symmes Hockey Team and was a stellar player for Symmes hockey in the Maniwaki tournament posting a 1-1 record that included a shutout. His GAA is 1.00 right now.... great sportsmanship as well!  Olivia Lamarche is on the Benjamin Girls A Basketball team.  Olivia scored 18 of 23 points in one of her games on the weekend.
  • Basketball Intramurals start today in the Symmes gym at 12:05. The following teams will be playing:

  • Attention all graduates!  Monday, November 14th is Grad Ring Day!  You can get a sneak peek at some of the great styles available for your special souvenir grad rings for 2012.  Come check it out at lunch time in the cafeteria.  Catalogues and price lists will be available for grads only.  Rings go on sale Next Thursday and Friday, November 17th and 18th and again on December 1st and 2nd.
